What Saturday Leaguers Will Never Tell You!

May 22, 2020

May 2020, Lockdown 4.0 and Saturday Leaguers Zoom-ed Online for a sesh on Creativity with The Art United. Here’s a #creativity 101 debrief that no one tells anyone but expects everyone to know. We list-icled it for you.

  1. Creativity is an ambiguous term. And it is coded into every single area of our lives. When you’re looking at a tough spot, you will find yourself knowingly or unknowingly taking steps to get out of/solve things in a way that is either unique or different. Why? Because creativity is a desire that pushes us to find a way to solve a problem, simple or complex.
  2. Creativity starts…here: Look around. Look up. God created everything around you. With a lot of imagination. Humans inherited this desire to want to make and solve things. We use all our senses, talents and gifts available to us to try accomplish something unique.

Jesus used parables. He didn’t use social media or Adobe Illustrator, but we still visualise when we read the parables today!

Visualise this cow giving you the stink eye! You're not going to forget this one.

  1. Visualisation: Ever pictured a scene in your mind while you thought, heard or read something? Our minds are like a production scene, which directly thinks or re-creates how would a scene have looked like. The ability for us to recreate those moments in our mind as if we were present then, indicate how creative we can be!
  2. What an idea, sir ji! That’s where it starts. No idea is impossible to accomplish unless you decide to give up on it. In the process you will need to remind yourself of the goal. Yeah, you! Things might not fall in place easily or directly as you go, but that is the beauty of the journey.

Use these basics as you explore a more creative life—as you find new ways to express love, hope, joy, new habits, a new goal—whatever it is that you want to spin the wheel on.

Those personal moments that you present to others through various means are the building blocks to letting loose your creativity on those around you. And in turn don’t ignore or forget the power to transform the life of another!

Thank you to The Art United for their ideas and inputs. Go check out their amazing new video and show some love!
